Discerning Men

***

Apostle Paul talked about how we shouldn't always see people from our physical perspective. If we do so, we'll miss a whole lot of points.

2 Corinthians 5:16
"So from now on we regard no one from a human point of view [according to worldly standards and values]. Though we have known Christ from a human point of view, now we no longer know Him in this way."

That's why the just shall walk by faith (empowered by the Spirit) and not just by physical eyes. God's speaking will always defy your physical seeing and mind capacity. God speaks from eternity to time.

David didn't know the men with him would one day be his army and swear to take bullets for him to be King. What if he has neglected them? Sometimes, God has placed your testimony beside you, but you're unable to see it because you're myopic. Otedola, Dangote, and wealthy people today have someone who invested in and believed in them to succeed. Some parents don't even believe in what God has prepared for their children.

You'll always think living by your physical senses is profitable until you meet the wall of Jericho. That day, you'll need God and your faith to work. Our lives are categorised into seasons and times. In every phase, God does new things, brings new people, and leads you to different locations - to birth His purpose.

Destiny doesn't partner will irrelevant people, but you'll need to pay attention to those he brings. A slave girl brought a mighty army commander his deliverance. God placed people around you for a reason, and the devil does too. Discernment is key!

It is by God's mercy that we are not consumed!

Lamentations 3:22-23: "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness."

Never forget that.

I've seen great humble people, but you won't know. They may not wear expensive clothing or use the latest toys, but they command influence. They may not have 1M followers on social media, but just "tell them from me" is more powerful than a social media campaign.

God uses men for men. "When God wants to help a man, he sends men to men." - Apostle Joshua

Your siblings are in your life for a reason. Most of the time, we are not careful and patient enough for God to reveal them.

If you want to judge success by physical appearance, you'll miss a lot. And most of the time, the Holy Spirit will always speak to us to dislodge our mindset but we won't listen.

There are many great men and women, silent labourers doing great things but they won't loud it. Some people are paying for children in orphanage homes to get better. So, we need to pray that God will help us to see well.

In the context of relationships and marriage, too, we often get deceived by physical appearances. On our journey with God, we'll understand that God uses anybody and anything to convey His counsel. He can use the weak to speak to the strong. Just as Balaam's donkey did.

If only we'll obey the prompt of the Holy Spirit, you'll discover that there's gold behind the doors. That man or woman may not look like anything near success, but you'll never smell its fragrance until you draw near.

Some people don't announce who they are, you'll need to draw close to know it. This is still 2025. As we're moving to the next quarter, if God leads you, obey first, and then you'll find out. Many people could have been married, but they rate hands more than the heart.

Draw near, and you'll find out.

Father, help me to see the way you see and act on your prompting in Jesus' Name.

Amen.
