The Full Armour Of God (concluding Part)

The Weapons of our warfare.

Ephesians 6vs14-20

Ephesians  6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

As much as many preachers have preached about this, some say Six weapons, others might include 7. But I'll show you, why it is 8 weapons. Though the number 8 might not be written according to the Bible passage. With the continuation from our last study, (part one), we look at the part two as we round up.

The Holy Spirit has written for us the armour that is crucial for every Child of God to put on, in order to be victorious in this world. The type of enemy we fight will determine the kind of weapons we use. Gladly we know that our enemy isn't of human like, but of spiritual form, therefore spiritual weapons are needed to fight.

Here are the 8 weapons Of Warfare.

1. The Belt Of Truth. Vs 25

Speaking the truth in love as Children of light. In our doings, showing forth as Children of the truth. Truthful in all doings and dealings

2. The Breastplate Of Righteousness

Living a life of total obedience to God, which comes from the heart. Living the God kind life, above reproach.

3. Sandal Of The Gospel

Always in season and out of season read to preach the Gospel. Making yourself a vehicle of preaching the good news of JESUS to the world.

4. Shield of Faith

Strong faith in the Lord, in His word, speaking and meditating, quenching away all arrows of the devil. To be established in faith of Christ, with the knowledge and boldness of your faith, destroying the lies and fear of the devil

5. Helmet of Salvation

This is the first step when going to battle, your helmet on. What does that mean? It means, having Christ as your Head. Being born again.

6. The Sword Of The Spirit.
        (The word of God)

The word of God is everything we have. Its a treasure of everything life needed to find. Not just reading, but meditating. Not just meditation, but The correct application to life's challenges. It can be used as offensive or defensive weapon.

Hebrews  4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The knowledge of the Word makes you powerful.

7. Watching and Praying in the Spirit.

Either in tongues or with understanding (I.e praying in a language of yours that you understands). Praying always as the Holy Spirit inspired you to do so. Making intercession for The saints, sinners and people around you. You can't pray effectively when you don't know what do pray about, and that comes from watching. Look around, discern, what's happening, then pick up your voice and pray towards it.

"Pray without Ceasing"

8. Thanksgiving.

I'll like to add this, because it is also a weapon. I call it "Unknown weapon of mass destruction"

Ephesians  5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

On some occasions the Lord Jesus gave thanks instead of praying. The apostles understands this weapon and deploy it wisely! What prayer will take a whole year to do, praise will do it in a day.

David was a Worshipper and he got more results. So what are you waiting for.

Here's, I have been able to present the 8 armour in simple form. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you put them on always in Jesus Name.

Who are the Enemies?

Ephesians  6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

These are the enemies. Once you know your enemy, you will know what kind of weapon to use and the how and when to deployed them.

The Banner.

Ephesians  6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

God wants us to stand, after every warfare.

Father give us the grace to Stand, even to the end in Jesus Name. Amen.
