Why You Should Allow God To Guide You Into Marriage

Genesis  2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

The decision of man always attract consequences to him. Where you are today, is as a result of the decision you made sometimes back. It is the desire of God to lead us and guide us into His perfect will. Men from Old time had prove stubborn, until God called them "stiff necked". Men is being design to be led by God and not himself, but because of the adamic nature he kept making things for himself and soon end up in it's results. God Almighty had been the one protecting and fighting for them, until they suddenly decided to have a human king. Why? "So that we can be like other Nations and when we go to battle our king will go before us". This was their request and God give them a king under prophet Samuel. Not quite long, the king misbehave, not even could he challenged the roaring of Goliath until David came to kill him. He disobey God's instructions and got punished. That was the result of men's decision.

1 Samuel  12:1 And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.

1 Samuel  13:11 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;

13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

 13:14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

The result of their decision brought a disaster to the nation.
How pleasant would it be if God is the one leading? Before you into that marriage, is it the Lord leading you to that man or woman? Adam waited until God brought the wife. Eve waited until God brought her to the man. They were both patient for God to lead them, no doubt Adam says " this is my bone and my flesh".

 Let me highlight few reasons why God should be involved.
1. He sees the heart.
The heart can be deceptive and cunning but because you've trusted in God, He sees the heart. The person you love might not be God's will for you. It is easy to camoflague this days, until God open your eyes. How well do you know him or her? Let God guide you.

2. He knows His own.
Among the sheep, there can be a wolf who dressed like a sheep, but God knows His own. There are many ministers but only God know those who are is. Let God direct you to that man or woman whom He had ordained. As a child of God, marrying a child of God is not one of the options, but the option.

3. He wants the best for us.

Proverbs  12:14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

Marriage is to be enjoyed and not endured. God wants you to enjoy the marriage He created. So many folks are out there and with pains and regret because of who they married. Some marry base on money, on beauty, social status, academic array or business connection. Sooner of later, they find out that it doesn't work. God wants the best man or woman for you. Not someone who will beat you like goat. No.

4. The nature of your calling.
Because of your calling. You can't be a business man and marry a woman who does laundry work. She must be able to advise you on business matter. She must have knowledge and broad understanding of what business entails, not Just a Petty trade. You can't be a pastor and marry someone who knows nothing about your calling or being convinced about your assignment. Let God Himself bring you to the man, or bring the lady to you. God won't give you someone who wouldn't go with you. Deacon Philip's daughters prophesy, this shows that his wife also supported his calling.

5. Make Heaven.

This is the important aspect of it all. God won't give us a marriage that will not take us to heaven. He wants us to enjoy marriage and also make heaven. Some people's focus of heaven had shifted because of the person they married.

Here are few reasons why we should allow God to guide us into marriage. Some folks are not what we see them to be until God reveal them. Abraham servant succeeded in getting a good wife for Issac because He allowed God to guide Him. Today, let God help you.

Amen.
Blessed?
Don't forget to share.
