DISCERNING THE WORD OF THE LORD

-------------------

"Nathan replied to David, “Whatever you have in mind, do it, for God is with you.” But that night the word of God came to Nathan, saying: “Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

1 Chronicles 17:2‭-‬4 NIV"

King David had a good thought to build an house for the Lord. He was zealous for the things of God. A serious believer will do that.

So he informed Nathan the Prophet of God about his pure intentions and the man of God said, "DO IT".

But that same day in the night, God spoke to the man of God to correct his approval.

______________

Especially in this age, one of the thing a believer should know is how to discern the word of the Lord from a man of God. A man of God is a man that is being used by God, thus, he has his own opinion to certain things.

The only problem is, today believer don't want to know whether the word a man of God is speaking is by himself or by God, they are ready to do everything. And it could be dangerous.

If a man of God share his opinion about football or politics, he's simply talking by himself (if he's not led by God), but when he's speaking by God to certain things, we should discern.

Man of God can talk from their mind, experience and point of view, not necessarily God giving them WORD to Speak.

A child of God should discern so we can lead a balanced life.

Not every thing is to be swallowed hook, line and sinker. Check, is he speaking by God or by himself.

So we won't quickly nail a man of God for sharing his own personal opinion believing he was speaking for God.

The Lord grant you understanding.
