Open Cheque
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Pro 22vs6
This scripture is an Open Cheque.
“An open cheque is a type of leaf that a holder can use to get payment at a bank or deposit in his own account. It is also possible for the holder to issue this cheque to someone else.” (Internet Definition}
Which means, your will and choice is requested. God gave man the ability to make choices. The word of God also shows us the consequences of every decision taken, whether the direction you choose.
When a new child is born, he's very much unconscious to things happening, before he starts getting adapted to the physical world. Aside from the inherent sinful nature plagued on every man that is born, the character development of the child is also dependent on the parent.
The Bible says, "train your child in the way he should go". Which means, you determine which way. This generation that parents are encouraging their children to do evil, they are showing them a way - an evil one. If you train your child to follow the Lord as young as they are, they won't depart from it. That is also a way. So, which way will you choose?
God made parents a watchman. The question is, Do the parents know the right way? Do the parents know the Lord? Are the parents born again? What kind of parents are they? Because, what you have is what you give. If the parents are children of God, of course, the offspring will take up the path - by teaching them the way of the Lord and disciplining them for righteousness.
This is a call and a reflection that we should follow the right Way.
John 14:6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
If you pattern your life and the children this way, you'll never go wrong.
Aside from raising children, your choice determines your living, and of course your eternal destination. And you can't escape the consequences that came as a result of your choice making.
Tomorrow's withdrawal is as a result of today’s deposit.
So, you have an open Cheque request, it's your choice to fill it.
Deuteronomy 30:19
