Psalm 91

Psalm 91

This scripture is a favorite chapter in Psalm, almost every Christan can quote it without missing a word. In some places, they prefer to read it than pray as the Spirit leads. You can read it for quiz and win prizes. Its such an awesome chapter that contains God's promises that everyone would love to walk in daily. Even unbelievers can quote it to cancel evil or chew before going to work. Some can read it before sleeping so as to have a good sleep. But beyond all these:

Our God is a God of principles and His promises are activated when His principles are obeyed. We want to enjoy God's promises without putting His principles into check. God is faithful, and He mean everything He said. Psalm 91, is such a great chapter of the bible that enforces deliverance, blessings and good inheritance of the saints. We can quote it, but there are two principles require for it to be activated in your life. You'll see why most time you quote it and enemy will still chase you in the dream.

1. If you say "The Lord is my refuge" (vs6 NIV)
This implies, the salvation of your soul. Have you made Jesus your Lord and Savior? Have you confess Him to be your refuge, hiding places from the torment of sin? Have you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the Lord? You have to surrender your life to the government of God, to be able enjoy His promises. God's promises are for His Children.

2. The Love for God.

Psalms  91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. (KJV)

This part talks more to believers who have received Christ. Jesus warn us that our love shouldn't be cold, and if possible return to your first Love. Have you set your love upon Jesus? Or do you still have one god you look up to? Where do you set your love? God wants the totality of your heart for Him. When you "set" your heart on something, it means you'll be committed to that things or someone. Some of us our love for God is wavering. Jesus should be the center and circumference of your heart as believers.

When your love for God is so real and provable then His promises will flow. God wants serious and committed children, whose gaze is Him Alone.
