SMALL AMOUNTS

Matthew 25:21
‘Well done, you good and faithful servant!’ said his master. ‘You have been faithful in managing small amounts, so I will put you in charge of large amounts. Come on in and share my happiness!' ( Good news Bible)

Matthew  25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. ( KJV)

I stumbled on this verse recently and it got my heart thinking as the Holy Spirit open my eyes. Each of us is graced according to our capacity or gifted according to how God has graced us. Apostle Paul was able to do more because of the grace upon Him. In a little way of wherever we are graced contribute a lot to the Kingdom, provided we put to work. It doesn't have to be " Big things" before we can do it well. It is not our " Big works" that determine the reward, but by being faithful even in little things. In whatever capacity you are graced to serve is your " Small Amounts", and the Comment of Christ is "well done faithful servant".

Being faithful in little things. Am I faithful in the area of my calling in the body of Christ? No part of the body is inferior to one another. For the body to function well, the tongue must not have a little pain, else the body will be uncomfortable.

1 Corinthians  12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

12:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

The Master and the 3 Servants according to the Lord Jesus parable depicts Christ and the believers. (Mat 25 vs 14-30)

Matthew 25:14
[14]“At that time the Kingdom of heaven will be like this. Once there was a man who was about to go on a journey; he called his servants and put them in charge of his property.

They were entrusted with the resources of the master, who went on a far journey. Unaware of the Masters' return, only two succeeded in gaining more profit for the master, except the unwise servant. The servants are liken to the believers who are entrusted with heavenly gifts and talents to trade with, even as our Lord had ascended to heaven. None know when He will come. The question is, are you faithful in the little things? Am I?

1 Corinthians  12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

God's gifts isn't for show but for profits. From the parable we understand that God as a business Man who desire fruits from His vine entrusted to us. God removed king Saul, when he wasn't making profit of the gift in him, but going in disobedience to God's order.

Little things can be:

A prayer for the sick.
Giving out of your abundance to the needed.
Praying for your pastor, church or colleagues.
Doing your best as the usher, a choir, a church cleaner, church Gardner.
Interceding for others.

                 **************
Not using the gifts In you is tantamount to wasting God's grace. Like apostle Paul said:

Galatians  2:21  I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

We are saved to save others. God expects us to be faithful even in the little amount committed to us. Our faithfulness in little things, earn us the Master's favor.

Ephesians  4:7  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

2 Timothy  1:9  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

Blessed?
Share...to bless others.
